Back Temporary Liability Truck Insurance

Looking for temporary liability insurance for 18 wheelers? When they purchase a new truck at the dealership, and they do not have a DOT # or a permanent lease with a motor carrier, they still need liabilty insurance to drive the truck off the lot.

Best to just write a policy that will insure him for what his operations will be, so they can get motor carrier filings done etc. -if he's going out on his own and obtaining permits. If he is going to lease on with someone, you can write a bobtail liability (with physical damage) policy. (your underwriter may let you follow up with a copy of the lease once signed on) Either way, being new he may have to pay for insurance a month or so before he actually gets going.
