Back Startin New Agency

I am a producer with 5 years of experience. I have a great network of referral sources and write 30 to 40 new accounts per month. I would like to find out about starting an agency in New York. If anyone has any information about how to get it started. Or, which agency network(Brooke or SIAA) is better. Or, if it is possible to start one in Suffolk County N.Y. Please, give any advice or information. It wil be a huge help

Out of those two, I would definetly recommend SIAA. I don't know of any Brooke agencies that are happy with their situation.

do not go with brooke. you will be disappointed. They promise all types of markets and help but they don't in the end

I suggest you talk with John Paterno at Insurance Agents Alliance of Long Island (SIAA) at 516.745.0800... they are the SIAA Master Agent for that part of the world! Jan

Thank you. I appreciate the reply. I took a little vacation to think about things. I want to pursue getting an agency started. I have possibly 5 producers interested in joining my agency. I will give you a buzz after the new year. I have decent amounts of premium with Travelers, Hanover, Andover, Utica National, Peerless, Kemper(Unitrin), New York Central, Mercury, Progressive, and a few others. Alltogether my book is around $2 million in premium. Happy new year
