We are not a MGA but a Specialized Professional Liability Wholesale Broker. We offer significant coverages for any insured you are dealing with in Professional (E&O; Director & Officer Coverage, Employment Practices Liability, Environmental and Technology etc.) We are a Bershire Hathaway company so we are not going away for a long time. Our service model, says we will notify you within 15 minutes of receipt that we have your risk application in hand and in our system. We will contact you direct within 8 hours to indicate where we are and if their any questions on either side. Most of our quotations are back in your hands within 1-3 days, some longer if more complex. We offer On-Line Quoting, Direct Bill, Three Year policies and more while our commissions run from 10-17% to our retail partners. Let me if we can help. Best Regards, Bob Robert J. One of the best ways is to develop a relationship with your MGA underwriters and let them know you will try to use them exclusively for particular speciality products. Make complete, legible submissions and allow as much lead time as possible when you can. Submissions that are hard to read or incomplete go to the bottom of the bin.

In addition to the complete submission - don't forget to include a need by date. If you email into a submission email address send another email to your underwriter letting them know about the submission and need by date so they can go looking for the app.

Grand General Agency specializes in the personal lines arena (we do write some commercial as well). We can process most types of personal lines quotes over the phone, and strive to have faxed requests returned to you in a couple hours. We are currently working in six states in the great lakes region. Check out our product list on-line at www.thehelpfulpeople.com, or give us call at 1-800-869-2022 with any questions regarding either products or contracts.

Know what a complete submission to that company looks like. We specialize in Hired & Non-Owned Auto coverage for Pizza Delivery. We need our specialty application, driver form, MVR's and loss runs. If we have all of these items, we can turn around a quote within a couple hours. Also, when I have a large stack of submissions on my desk, I will prioritze the accounts supplied by agents that do a complete job with their submissions. The more times I have to touch an account (i.e., send out letters for additional info, send out requests for loss history, etc...) the more it costs me and my staff to work on that account. Therefore, I always prioritize a complete submission over an incomplete submission.

I want to thank all of you for your response to my question. I do send in complete submitals or at least I like to think so. I would be happy with a question or anything back. I have a reply button on the email for a response to show that they at least got it and that doesn't even come back in most cases. I hate to sound pickey but, I specialize in commercial auto and strive to be the best I can, as alot of you do but when I turn in a submission to some of the largets GA's and they don't reponed it makes me look bad. I am in this for my clients with out them I don't exist. Service is my main concern. I don't just want to have a ton of GA's but a select few that I can work closeley with, any idea's of who that could be.

Always communicate with the wholesaler. If your wholesaler is too busy to discuss the risk with you then get a new one. There is sometimes a Meat Market Mentality with the larger wholesalers. The most succesful relationship is a wholesale that will help you with your needs to bind the policy. Just remember we (wholesalers) don't get paid unless you bind the policy. As a wholesaler we are sometimes restricted by the carrier in the time a quote will be sent back to us. But I will always let my retailer know when to expect a quote. Let me know if i can ever be of assistance on any Professional Liability risks. daniel@agostinisurplus.com

We are an insurance company who has an MGA underwriting our long haul trucking program for us. We write primarily from Texas to the Carolinas. I recommend phone communication to build relationships. Emails are too impersonal and often misunderstood. If you are interested in a trucking market contact me and we will see if there is a fit. We appoint only a select few agents per state. The same format can be used for any type of risk substituting limits, square footage and sales in place of the breakdown of vehicles.
