Our agency currently uses AMS 360 but did not purchase the "benefits" portion of the program due to cost per user, per computer, etc. AMS360 seems to be more tailored to the Commercial Lines first, then Personal lines, and lastly if at all to Life & Health. We've been on AMS360 for about 2 yrs and are now looking towards NexSure and Applied systems. Good luck in your search.

I'm a new agency specializing in Commercial Insurance with a small book of business that also has the ability to write home, auto, health and life insurance. My next big step is to obtain my online agency management system. I've narrowed my search down to Doris and AMS360 with obvioius differences in set-up and monthly fees along with their own different features and add-on componets. I know both systems can manage my P/C client's informaiton and policies. But i'm not sure to what degree they can manage my health and life clients' information, track my new prospect marketing efforts or create new client quote proposals. The initial and ongoing expense is a factor in getting started but then again I also know with the right software can make my job easier and more profitable.... Has anyone used both systems to share some insight on how well they each perform?
You may wish to consider Applied. We use it and are extremely happy

I would go with Applied Systems as well. It is the best for day to day operations, accounting and a great marketing tool.

I've used Quickfile since the beginning. For the price it can't be beat and if you upgrade to Enterprise system all your data is held in a separate area in case your computers crash or Hurricane hits etc.

I Write Alot Of Commercial And Have Been Doing For 20 Years, I Have Uitilized At Least 4 Agency Mgmt Systems, I Started Using Agency Software For 7 Years, And I Can Say I Love It, Its User Friendly. Anyone Can Do The Accounting And A Customer Update And Write A Certicate Insurnace In No Time. I Would Never Switch Again.

I have two agencies. One was a combination of two other agencies- one using Doris and one using Applied. I found Doris to be a total disappointment! Applied works fine, but they are REALLY proud of their stuff! I have seen AMS in action even though I have not personally used it. Agents I have watched use it and talked to are pretty happy with AMS360. However, if cost is a factor as it always is, I think I would explore one of the other alternatives thoroughly. I do admit though that Applied does all we need and more. We are paperless so anything I can recommend along that line would be that you get your system fully integrated and wear out a few scanners. I have not bought a file cabinet in over ten years and I do not want to start now. Remember the market for the different management systems, is limited. This means many smaller management systems providers, will always have a problem of cash flow. A lack thereof, reduces their services, upgrades, etc, etc. This is why the big two systems... AMS & Applied, hold such a large share of the marketplace for management systems. It is also why, many small management systems are bought up by AMS & Applied. We started with a small provider in Cour'd Alene ID, but they ran out of sales & were bought up by AMS. Good vs Bad??? Hard to say. We stayed with the product, Agency1, for several years, though owned by AMS. They serviced it & it was very cost effective for us. Later we were given the option to UPGrade to AfW OnLine, with a discount, since we were already in the AMS family. Now we are running on AMS360. Advantage: We did not have pay out the initial full cost, that AMS360 would cost now. We gradually started & then moved up, as our agency system grew & we became knowledgable with a management system. Our actual, initial out of pocket, cash was very low, to start. Now our monthly fees are steep, but if a Provider, cannot afford to support & improve, they will not be around long. XCU
