MyNewMarkets.com recently completed a six-part series on flood insurance and the NFIP. The series began with the history of flood protection and flood insurance legislation and ended with a synopsis of proposed legislation.

In between the legislative discussions, these articles focused on defining flood zones, detailing the three most common policy forms and definitions unique to flood insurance policies. Also covered were unusual policy provisions potentially detrimental to insureds.

From these discussions a flood insurance checklist flowed. The intent is that the checklist will be a tool to help agents better discuss flood coverage with clients and potential clients.
