Does anyone know of any markets that would write a motorcycle in a commercial name? Client happened to title it in business name years ago and they want to keep it that way. They were issued a specially low digit tag by State of Delaware and they don't want to lose it. It was registered in commercial name. He uses the motorcycle very rarely, kept in garage. Personal use.

I am also looking to insure a motorcycle cop doing side jobs, on the side. I figure he needs liability, maybe even some type of E&O???

Try progressive. You may have to write in both names or add commercial name as additional insured.

I wrote a policy like this with Foremost a couple years ago.

I assume that the business has a commercial policy. If so I would talk to that carrier. I just had the same thing happen with one of my commercial clients and the underwriter on the commercial account made an exception to add the motorcycle. The carrier was Westfield Ins, but unfortunately you don't have them there. Another option may be for the insured to lease it to himself personally and then write a personal lines policy on it.
