I recently got involved in an accident on duty in company car. Bosstells me car was uninsured after collision.
Police cites me no proof of insurance. Shouldn't the court go after the company?

Well you do not state what state you are in, but a court acktion will not happen until a lawsuit is filed. Here are some scenarios.
1. Yes, the owner should have had  insurance on the vehicle.
2. The operator also is responsible. As the driver it is your responsibiliy to make the vehicle's brakes, and lights operate properly. The registration is valid, and proof of insurance is in car.
3. Now the owner of vehicle should be primary on the claim, but if there is no insurance and you caused the accident then you are and should be held responsible.
4. I am sure if you go to court and fight the ticket you will be excused of the no insurance because you did not own the vehicle.
