My client is being non-renewed for Product Liability only after 15 years with the same carrier; and never had a claim. The company manufactures GE-STAR, MDC-1200 and FleetSync compatible ANI (automatic numerical identification) products.
The basic funtion of the ANI product line is the transmission of mobile radio identification to a Decoder Display unit. Two-way messaging is also available that allows the user to disable a radio, place calls to selected radios, alert a user that a call is waiting and verify that radio is within range.
The products are installed as an after-market upgrade that adds features to two-way radios not available from the originial manufacturer. Client customers include: Port Authority of NY & NJ, NY State Dept of Corrections, NY State Policy, NY DOT and other state DOT, various State correctional institutions, fire depts, and the USAF.
One problem is the clients size - it's not big, sales are less than $1,000,000; and I think this contributes to the problem.
