Yes, true. James River does them. I just spoke with the SVP of Mktg and he said they underwrite the non-owned auto programs for both Uber and Lyft, for their peer-to-peer ride hailing business (matching independent drivers using their personal vehicles with riders across the respective network.) Uber has other operations (black car, taxi, and other commercially licensed business) that is insured elsewhere.
All of their Transportation Network Company (TNC) business funnels through the wholesale broker CRC in Dallas.
