Workers Compensation Fines ? HELP ?

    Hi,

    I have a client that has a pretty large workers compensation fine in New York for failure to carry workers compensation for 6+ months.

    Does anyone know if there is a place that can help ? An accountant ? A Lawyer ?

    An accountant or attorney may be able to write a letter to NYSIF to get the fine waived or reduced.  I have seen that happen in the past.  Maybe if the owner wrote a letter of explaination and request for waiver and provided proof that coverage is now secured?
