ISO, a risk assessment and decision analytics provider for the property & casualty industry, has developed two new endorsements to help personal lines insurers address the commercial exposures faced by insureds who are using their vehicles for ridesharing purposes. In this podcast, Sandee Perfetto, director of Personal Auto Product Development at ISO, discusses the endorsements and why ISO is tackling the ridesharing issue, which has been hotly contested nationwide.
Comments
1) Does it address the coverage requirements when crossing state lines to pick up a passenger?
2)Are illegal activities covered as some of the places these TNC drivers go do not allow TNC services.
3) Would it have a named driver endorsement as many of these TNC drivers give their cell phone/connected to someone else to cover for them. This opens up another can of worms. Background checks, sexual predators, etc.
4) NYC is seeing imposter services posing as a TNC provider. Is a direct affiliation required and checked for these endorsements to apply? If not, people are going to continue to go into business for themselves as imposters.
